Monroe County Florida Jane doe (1979)
🌊💔 47 YEARS WITHOUT A NAME: WHO WAS THE YOUNG WOMAN FOUND IN BAHIA HONDA?
For 47 years, one young woman has remained unidentified.
On March 5, 1979, the body of a young woman was discovered floating in the Atlantic Ocean near the south end of the Bahia Honda Bridge in the Florida Keys.
She was estimated to be only 16–19 years old.
She was approximately 5’5″ tall and weighed about 110 pounds, with brown to auburn, curly, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. Her face was still recognizable when she was found, yet investigators were unable to determine who she was.
She was wearing:
👖 Blue Lee jeans
🖤 A black Eclipse tank top
She also had a noticeable healed scar on her right index finger and evidence of previous dental work, including a crown and fillings.
An autopsy determined that she had drowned and had likely been deceased for only a few hours before she was discovered.
But the biggest question remains:
WHO WAS SHE?
The circumstances surrounding how she entered the water remain unknown. Over the years, investigators have explored different possibilities, but her identity has never been confirmed.
For nearly half a century, she has been known only as Monroe County Jane Doe.
Somewhere, there may be a family who has always wondered what happened to a daughter, sister, granddaughter, or friend who disappeared decades ago.
Someone may recognize her description.
Someone may remember a young woman who vanished around 1979.
Someone may have information that could finally give her a name.
