🕊️🖤 Who was this man? Someone, somewhere, may be missing him.
An unidentified Black/African American man was found deceased in a wooded area near Highbridge Park in Manhattan, New York, on March 26, 2026.
He is believed to have been between 50 and 90 years old and approximately 5’5″ to 5’11” tall. His remains were found in a condition that made identification difficult, and investigators have not yet been able to determine his name.
The man had gray or partially gray, curly hair. He was wearing dark-colored socks when he was found.
His case is listed with NamUs as #UP157802, with the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner case number M26-10147.
There is very little known about him right now. No name. No confirmed identity. No known family.
But behind those unanswered questions was a human being who lived a life, knew people, made memories, and mattered to someone.
