On October 4, 1973, 14-year-old Roger Merton Day was reported missing by his father.
More than 50 years later, Roger has never been found. 🕯️
👦 WHO WAS ROGER?
Roger was a 14-year-old White male with:
- 📏 Height: 5’7″
- ⚖️ Weight: Approximately 130 lbs
- 🤎 Hair: Brown
- 👁️ Eyes: Hazel
- 👕 Last known clothing: Purple sweatshirt, denim jacket, jeans, and sneakers
- ✋ Distinguishing feature: The tip of his middle finger had previously been crushed in an accident.
🚌 THE MORNING HE DISAPPEARED
Roger was living with his family in Porter, Maine.
On the morning of October 4, 1973, Roger and his three siblings had breakfast together after their mother left for work.
The children were expected to catch the bus to school.
But Roger told his siblings that he planned to skip school and spend the day at the Fryeburg Fair. 🎡
That was the last time his family is known to have seen him.
It remains unclear whether Roger ever made it to the fair.
He was reported missing by his father, and despite the passage of more than five decades, there has been no confirmed trace of Roger since 1973.

Did he leave Porter on his own, or did something happen to him?
