🕊️💔 Still Unidentified: Who Was the Man Found in Baltimore, Maryland?
Behind every unidentified person is a life that mattered. Someone who had a story, memories, experiences, and a place in this world. Today, we are asking for help identifying a man whose name remains unknown, even though people in his community reportedly recognized his face.
On May 3, 2023, the remains of an unidentified Black man were discovered in the backyard of a vacant home in Baltimore, Maryland. A passerby made the heartbreaking discovery, beginning a search for answers about who this man was and what happened to him.
Despite reportedly being familiar to local residents and business owners, he was known by sight rather than by name. According to the circumstances documented in his case, he was often seen going through trash cans in the area and had reportedly been seen earlier that same day. Yet, despite these familiar encounters, his identity remains unknown.
💔 Imagine being someone people recognize as they pass by, but whose name no one can provide when it matters most. This man deserves to be remembered as more than an unidentified person. He deserves his name back.
The man is believed to have been between 19 and 39 years old. He was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed around 156 pounds. He had short black hair with a receding hairline, a beard and goatee, and brown eyes.
When he was found, he was wearing a black beanie, a black hoodie with a front pocket, a black Calvin Klein zip-up jacket, gray cargo pants, a gray and red cloth belt, black underwear, black socks, and gray, orange, and black sneakers.
These details may seem small, but they could be the very clues that help someone recognize him and finally give him back his identity.
🕯️ His case is listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System as NamUs #UP112992. His remains were discovered in Baltimore City, Maryland, and the case was entered into NamUs on December 12, 2023.
Someone may have known him personally. Someone may remember talking to him, seeing him around the neighborhood, or knowing where he stayed. A friend, an acquaintance, a family member, or someone who crossed paths with him may recognize his description or clothing.
