Reading Pennsylvania Jane Doe (April 2025)

🕊️💜 Still Unidentified: Who Was the Woman Found in the Woods in Berks County, Pennsylvania? 💔

Somewhere, there may be someone wondering what happened to a loved one who disappeared years ago. A family member who never came home. A friend whose absence was never explained. A woman whose story remains untold because, even today, no one has been able to put a name to her remains.

On April 28, 2025, skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area of Cumru Township in Berks County, Pennsylvania, near Interstate 176 around mile marker 9.6. The discovery was made by a federal agency conducting an unrelated search.

When the remains were examined by a forensic pathologist the following day, the individual was determined to be a female of short stature. Investigators believe her remains may have been in the area for approximately three to five years before they were discovered. The remains were sent to a forensic anthropologist for further examination.

💔 Who was this woman? Where did she come from? Did someone report her missing years ago, never knowing that she was so close to being found? These are questions that remain unanswered, and somewhere, there may be people who deserve to know what happened to her.

According to the available case information, she is believed to have been an Asian female with an estimated height between 4 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 3 inches. Her age has not been determined, although she is categorized as an adult under 50. Unfortunately, because of the condition of the remains, investigators have limited information about her physical appearance.

However, the clothing recovered with her may provide important clues to her identity.

🧥 At the time she was found, she was wearing a purple winter coat, a long-sleeved white shirt, a long-sleeved black sweater, leopard-print pants, and a leopard-print basket-style hat. She also had a red glove, a striped scarf, black underwear with pink polka dots, and black calf-high winter boots with fur trim and side zippers.

These details may seem small, but they could be significant to someone who remembers a loved one wearing similar clothing or recognizes the distinctive leopard-print items.

🕯️ Her case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) on May 5, 2025, under case number UP143220.

Although investigators have made progress in recovering and examining her remains, her identity remains unknown. Behind the case number is a woman who lived a life of her own, with experiences, memories, and a story that deserves to be remembered.

We may not know her name yet. We may not know where she spent her final days or how she came to be in those woods. But she deserves to be identified, and her loved ones deserve the chance to learn what happened.

Someone may recognize the clothing described in this case. Someone may remember a missing woman who fits her estimated height and background. Perhaps a family has been searching for answers for years without realizing this case could be connected to their loved one.

Please take a moment to read her description and share her story. Even a small piece of information could help investigators uncover her identity.

📢 If you have information that could help identify this woman, please contact the Berks County Coroner’s Office at 610-478-3280.

🕊️ She deserves her name back. She deserves to be remembered as more than unidentified remains. And somewhere, there may be someone waiting for answers that this case could finally provide.

💜 Help bring her identity to light and give this woman the recognition and dignity she deserves. She has not been forgotten. 🕯️
