Michael Anthony McClain, known by the nicknames “Mike” and “MikeNice,” disappeared in the early morning hours of April 21, 2019, after a night out in Nashua, New Hampshire. His family and friends have not heard from him since, and his disappearance remains unsolved.

💔 THE NIGHT MICHAEL VANISHED

On the night of April 20 into the early morning of April 21, 2019, Michael was at the Tropical Lounge on Hollis Street with friends. During their visit, an altercation broke out in the parking lot between two women, one of whom Michael knew.

Michael reportedly tried to de-escalate the situation. The crowd did not disperse until police arrived around 1:45 a.m. Afterward, Michael became separated from his friends.

📱 A DISTURBING PHONE CALL

After leaving the nightclub, Michael called his boss and reportedly said:

“They’re after me. More than one.”

He also sent three unusual text messages to a neighbor:

• “HELP LOL OUR” • “what stood aloof” • “Eldridge bro”

Investigators believe Michael may have been using voice-to-text dictation because the messages were difficult to understand. The word “Eldridge” may have referred to Eldridge Street, which is near the nightclub.

What did Michael mean when he said people were after him? Was he frightened, and if so, what had happened?

These are among the unanswered questions surrounding his disappearance.

📹 THE LAST KNOWN SIGHTINGS

🕑 Around 2:00 a.m. – Michael was captured on surveillance video at a McDonald’s restaurant.

🕞 Around 3:30 a.m. – He was seen entering and exiting a parking garage at Riverfront Landing, near Bancroft Street and the Merrimack River.

Michael was reportedly last seen on foot in the early morning hours. The parking garage footage is the last known sighting described in the case details.

💔 HIS SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCE RAISED CONCERNS

The following day, Michael failed to show up for work, which was uncharacteristic of him.

He also did not contact his mother or grandmother over the Easter holiday weekend, and he missed calling his sister on her birthday. Calls to his phone went directly to voicemail.

His family and friends have not heard from him since.

• Race: Black • Gender: Male • Height: 5’10” • Weight: Approximately 190 pounds • Hair: Black, styled in braids or cornrows at the time of his disappearance • Eyes: Brown; he may wear green-tinted contact lenses • Facial Hair: Goatee • Distinguishing Features: Pierced ears and multiple tattoos on his arms, hands, and chest

His tattoos include waves, the name “Justise,” and a design featuring a snake, a cross, a basketball, and the letter M.

👕 CLOTHING WORN WHEN HE DISAPPEARED

Michael was reportedly wearing:

• A black T-shirt with a white logo • Jeans • Nike sneakers, described in another case summary as red and white • One or two gold chain necklaces • A bracelet and a watch

❤️ THE LIFE HE LEFT BEHIND

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Hesser College, now known as Mount Washington College.

At the time of his disappearance, he worked for Easterseals New Hampshire, a nonprofit organization serving people with disabilities, veterans, and older adults. His work involved supporting autistic children.

Michael was a son, grandson, brother, friend, and valued member of his community. His disappearance left the people who loved him searching for answers.
