🌊🔍 Michigan Mystery: Who Was the Man Found in the Detroit River? 🕊️🧩
On August 28, 2021, the remains of an unidentified man were recovered from the Detroit River near Mud Island in Ecorse, Wayne County, Michigan. More than five years later, his identity remains unknown. Somewhere, there may be someone wondering what happened to a loved one, unaware that this man is still waiting to be identified.
Known as NamUs #UP85671, the man was estimated to be between 30 and 45 years old at the time of his death. He was approximately 5’9” tall and weighed around 150 pounds, with brown hair. Investigators estimated that he had been deceased for approximately one week before his remains were recovered.
Although his identity remains a mystery, he had distinctive features that could help someone recognize him. He had several well-healed scars on his left forearm and around his left elbow, suggesting injuries that had occurred sometime before his death.
He also had a distinctive tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. The design featured yellow and green graffiti-style lettering, with orange splotches separating the colors, and a star at the beginning. The words are difficult to interpret but may read “Great Arsenal,” “GeRARd,” or “get rabid.” Someone who remembers this tattoo could hold an important clue to his identity.
At the time his remains were recovered, he was wearing purple patterned bathing shorts.
