In June 1983, 15 year old Robert “Bobby” Gutkaiss left home in Stephentown, New York, excited for his first day working as a berry picker at Pease Farm. He never made it back. After finishing work around 6 p.m., Bobby was last seen walking along Route 22. When he didn’t return home, his mother reported him missing, sparking an intensive search. 8 days later, Bobby’s body was tragically discovered on a remote logging road, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Despite decades of effort, countless interviews, and renewed investigations over the years, Bobby’s case remains unsolved. His family, community, and investigators still hold onto hope that someone will come forward with the missing piece of information needed to bring justice. Even the smallest detail could finally provide answers in this heartbreaking cold case.
