🕯️💔 Missing: Kathleen “Kathy” Kelly 💔🕯️
Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Kelly was just 12 years old when she disappeared on May 22, 1981, from Springdale, Pennsylvania. Described by loved ones as independent and mature for her age, Kathy spent much of her free time at the popular Ches-A-Rena skating rink in nearby Cheswick, where several of her family members worked. On the evening she vanished, Kathy left the rink because she said she was bored and walked to her older sister Judy Stanko’s home, about eight blocks away. After spending roughly an hour talking with her sister and visiting her infant niece, Kathy decided to walk the six blocks back home alone, something that was not considered unusual in the small town at the time. Although Judy later recalled feeling that Kathy seemed evasive and possibly had other plans that night, she allowed her to leave. Kathy never arrived home and has never been seen or heard from again.
Over the years, Kathy’s disappearance has remained an enduring mystery. Some family members believe she may have run away due to difficulties at home, while others fear she may have encountered foul play while walking alone that night. Authorities initially treated the case as a runaway, and according to relatives, little investigation or organized search effort was conducted at the time. Years later, Kathy’s niece reportedly received several strange phone calls, including one in which a female voice simply stated, “You know who I am and I’m fine,” before hanging up. Despite decades passing, Kathy’s family continues to hope she is alive and that answers will someday come. Kathleen Kelly’s case remains unsolved.
Anyone with information about her disappearance is urged to contact the Allegheny Valley Regional Police Department at 724-274-2843.
