MISSING SINCE 1976 — WHAT HAPPENED TO FRANCISCO?
18-year-old Francisco Do Nascimento Pimentel vanished without a trace after boarding an AMTRAK train in Providence, Rhode Island on August 8, 1976.
Francisco had recently made the decision to enlist in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was ordered to report to Fort Dix, New Jersey for training. Family members and friends accompanied him to the Providence AMTRAK station to see him off as he boarded the train alongside his recruiter and several other recruits.
But Francisco never arrived at Fort Dix.
Since that day, no one has seen or heard from him again.
Francisco is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5’9” tall and weighing approximately 135 pounds at the time of his disappearance.
Nearly 50 years later, his loved ones are still searching for answers.
