🕯️💔 Two Young Lives, Still Without Names: The Dorchester John Does 💔🕯️

On October 6, 1988, a heartbreaking discovery was made in a small wooded vacant lot along Eldon Street in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Beneath a tarp lay the bodies of two young Black males who had been murdered in an execution-style shooting. Investigators believe they had been dead for several days before they were found. Nearby, police recovered a homemade foam suppressor containing gunpowder residue and a blue nylon Reebok gym bag, but despite decades of investigation, the identities of the two victims, and the person responsible for their deaths, remain unknown.

The younger victim, often referred to as John Doe #1, is believed to have been between 14 and 16 years old, standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He had short black hair and brown eyes and was found wearing a gray sweater, blue shirt, blue jeans, red underwear, white socks, and white Avia sneakers. Investigators believe his first name may have been “Clayton.” A forensic facial reconstruction has been created in hopes that someone might recognize him and finally restore his identity.

Beside him was John Doe #2, believed to have been between 15 and 17 years old (with some estimates placing him as old as 20). He stood approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. Investigators believe his first name may have been “Hooker.” Both young men may have been of Jamaican descent and are believed to have had ties to the Bronx, New York. DNA testing has confirmed that they were not related, yet their lives tragically ended together.

For more than three decades, these two young men have remained nameless. Somewhere, families may still be searching, wondering what became of sons, brothers, or friends who never came home. Every unidentified victim deserves to have their name returned, their story told, and their loved ones given the answers they have waited so long to receive.
