💔 WHO WAS SHE? 33 YEARS LATER, THIS WOMAN STILL HAS NO NAME. 🔎
On June 5, 1993, police in Bridgeport, Connecticut, made a heartbreaking discovery in a vacant lot near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Railroad Avenue.
Inside a vehicle, they found the severely burned remains of a woman.
She could not be identified.
What investigators did determine was that she was a Black/African American woman, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5’3″ tall, with curly black hair. Her remains were so severely burned that investigators were unable to determine her identity through ordinary means.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that she was the victim of a homicide. Investigators estimated that she had died only hours before her remains were discovered.
But after all these years, one of the most basic questions remains unanswered:
What was her name?
She wasn’t just an unidentified person.
She was someone’s daughter. Someone’s sister. Someone’s friend. Someone who had a life, memories, hopes, and people who may have been searching for her.
There were also personal clues found near the scene: one white ASICS sneaker and one Reebok sneaker.
Her DNA is available, offering the possibility that modern forensic technology could one day help give her the identity she was denied for so long.
