On February 4, 2014, 13-year-old Kristopher “Kris” Lewis left school and boarded the bus home, just as he had done so many times before.
His mom, Nina, had just started a new job, and the family had something special to look forward to that evening: dinner together. The plan was simple, whoever got home from school first would get to choose the restaurant. Kris wanted to win.
He was a bright, active teenager who loved football, basketball, cartoons and karate. He was proud to be a big brother and especially close to his mom. To Nina, he was her son, her child, and a huge part of her world.
That afternoon, Kris was supposed to be home around 5:30 p.m.
But he never came through the door.
At first, Nina thought the bus might be late. Then she learned the bus had arrived on time. Kris had been on it. He had gotten off at his usual stop. A friend told Nina they had walked together until Kris was only about a block from home.
And then… Kris was gone.
One minute, a mother was waiting for her son to come home from school. The next, her entire life changed.
Nina called police, beginning a search that has now lasted more than 12 years. And through every one of those years, she has refused to stop looking.
Imagine being a mother and not knowing where your child is for more than a decade. Imagine celebrating birthdays without him. Holidays without him.
Years passing while one question never leaves your mind:
Where is my son?
A new age-progression image has been released to show what he may look like today. But an age-progressed photograph is only useful if someone recognizes the person in it.
Someone out there may know something. Someone may have information they have never shared.
And that one piece of information could finally bring a family the answers they have been waiting for.

His mother has spent years doing what no parent should ever have to do—searching for her child.
She is still waiting. She is still hoping.
