🔎 MISSING FOR 26 YEARS: WHAT HAPPENED TO GEORGE BOARDMAN?
On October 5, 2000, 70-year-old George Boardman left his home in Bingham, Maine, telling his roommates he was going to a doctor’s appointment.
He never came back.
And more than two decades later, George has never been found.
👤 ABOUT GEORGE
George was a retired merchant sailor who lived at 392 Whitney Street in Bingham.
He was 70 years old at the time of his disappearance, approximately 5’6″ tall and between 150 and 170 pounds. He had graying brown hair and brown eyes.
George had never married and had no children, but he had family members in Maine, Vermont, and Florida.
🚗 THEN HIS CAR TURNED UP
For weeks, there was no word from George.
His disappearance initially did not immediately alarm his family because George was known to take trips that could last for weeks without telling anyone where he was going.
But eventually, his lack of contact became concerning.
Then, on November 6, 2000, his 1990 brown Honda Accord was discovered abandoned behind the Searsmont Municipal Parking Lot.
📍 Searsmont is more than 70 miles from Bingham.
George was nowhere to be found.
His Maine license plate was 3403 JF, and the vehicle was ultimately accounted for — but there was still no sign of George.
🧩 DECADES OF QUESTIONS
Investigators have followed numerous leads and conducted interviews over the years, but none have revealed what happened to George.
Why was his car left so far from his home?
How did it get to Searsmont?
Where did George go after leaving Bingham?
And most importantly…
Where is George?
⚠️ His case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected.
