๐๐ MANCHESTER COLD CASE: The Unsolved Disappearance of Denise Daneault ๐ฅ๐
๐จ๐ฏ๏ธ STILL MISSING: What Happened to Denise Daneault? ๐๐
On the night of June 8, 1980, 25-year-old Denise Ann Daneault left a private social club in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire, around 1:30 a.m. She reportedly told others she was heading to a party. After that night, Denise was never seen or heard from again.
More than four decades have passed, yet the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain a mystery. Denise was a divorced mother of two young sons who lived with a roommate on Hayward Street in Manchester. According to available information, it was out of character for her to leave without warning, making her sudden disappearance all the more troubling.
Denise was described as approximately 5โ5โ tall and weighing around 135 pounds, with brown hair and brown or green eyes. She may have been wearing a brown printed skirt when she disappeared. Her maiden name was Lavoie.
๐ In the years since Denise vanished, investigators have continued searching for answers. In November 2017 and May 2018, authorities conducted extensive searches in a wooded area behind public housing buildings on Kimball Street in Manchester. The searches followed information gathered during the investigation, and some locations examined in 2018 had been identified by search dogs during the earlier operation. Officials did not publicly disclose whether the searches uncovered anything significant.
Deniseโs disappearance has also drawn attention because of two other troubling cases from the same area.
Fourteen-year-old Laureen Rahn disappeared in Manchester in April 1980, approximately six weeks before Denise. The two reportedly resembled one another despite their age difference, but investigators have not established a connection between their disappearances.
Denise also lived just a few doors away from Terry Peder Rasmussen, who was living in New Hampshire under the name โBob Evans.โ Rasmussen was later connected to multiple murders, including the Bear Brook killings, and was convicted of murdering Eunsoon Jun in California. He died in prison in 2010.
Because of Rasmussenโs history, investigators have examined whether he could have been connected to Deniseโs disappearance. However, authorities have stated that no evidentiary connection has been established, and his involvement in her case remains unproven.
๐ Behind this decades-old investigation is a woman who had a family, two young children, and a life of her own. Her sons were left without the answers that might explain why their mother disappeared, and the passage of time has not erased the importance of finding out what happened to her.
Denise was last seen walking away from a social club, reportedly heading to a party. Where did she go afterward? Did someone see her that night or have information that was never shared with investigators?
๐๏ธ Denise deserves to be remembered, and her disappearance deserves continued attention. Someone may still hold a detail that could help investigators move this case forward.
