🧸💔 WHERE IS PATRICIA “PATTY” WOOD? The Disappearance of a Little Girl in New Hampshire 🔎
Patricia Ann “Patty” Wood was only 3 or 4 years old when she disappeared from Swanzey, New Hampshire, in 1976. A child who should have had her whole life ahead of her vanished under deeply troubling circumstances, and decades later, no one knows where she is.
Even more disturbing, authorities did not learn that Patty was missing until 1987 — approximately 11 years after she was last known to be seen.
🏠 STORIES THAT DIDN’T ADD UP
Patty was last known to be living with her father, John Wood, her stepmother, Judith Wood, and four older step-siblings. During the years she was missing, her biological mother was reportedly told that Patty had died in a car accident, while other people were told that she was living with her mother. Neither explanation was true.
When police confronted Judith about Patty’s disappearance on August 20, 1987, investigators were left with a case full of unanswered questions. The following day, John and Judith died by suicide at their home. They left a note, but it did not reveal what had happened to Patty or where she could be found.
💔Before Patty vanished, she had reportedly been treated for injuries several times and hospitalized at least once. Medical professionals had raised concerns about possible child abuse, and Patty had spent several months in foster care before being returned to her family.
One of her step-siblings later told their father and police that John and Judith had drowned Patty in a bathtub and buried her in the backyard. This was an allegation, not a confirmed account of what happened.
Investigators searched the family’s backyard and examined local mine shafts, but those efforts did not locate Patty. Despite the extensive investigation, her fate remains unknown.
🕯️ Patty was born on October 12, 1972, and was approximately 3 or 4 years old when she disappeared. She was a white female with brown hair, and her family nickname was Patty. Her height, weight, and clothing at the time she went missing are not reliably established.
Today, Patricia Ann Wood’s case remains open and is considered highly suspicious. She would be 54 years old in 2026.
