Christopher Allen Zahl was 43 years old in 1994 when he was last seen on May 12th in Holmdel, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He has not been heard from since. The day after he was last seen, May 13th, his vehicle was located abandoned at a train station in Red Bank, New Jersey. There had been no signs of him at the scene. The vehicle had been wiped clean of fingerprints, and Zahl’s eyeglasses, wallet and credit cards were inside it.
Zahl’s disappearance was possibly related to a recent dispute with his brother. They had been fighting over the family’s tree farm. Christopher’s brother wanted to buy him out. He also reported Chris to the police for growing marijuana on the farm. The brother has never been charged as a suspect. In one article I linked below, it has a small newspaper clipping that states “Chris had been having an affair with his best friend’s wife.” But I do not have any proof of that.
Foul play is suspected in this case, but it is still unsolved.
Christopher is a white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5’9” and 200 lbs. His blood type is A positive and he has a scar on his right knee. What clothing he had on is unknown. He was usually wearing a watch and was carrying a keychain. (no details on what they look like.) His dental records, DNA and fingerprints are all uploaded into NamUs.

I’m sorry you have been impacted by this tragedy. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and confusion. I don’t understand how this hasn’t been investigated further… Can you please contact me to talk personally about what happened?
